FM Approvals has been made aware of a small number of failures involving certain Victaulic® FireLock™ IGS™ Installation-Ready™ Style V9 Sprinkler Couplings manufactured between May 2020 and October 2021.

Please reference the attached Product Notification (PN001) from Victaulic Company and contact Victaulic Company at the number / email provided if you suspect that affected products are installed at your facility.

Product Identity: FireLock™ IGS™ Installation-Ready™ Style V9 Sprinkler Coupling.

Description: Rigid grooved coupling and reducing coupling specifically for joining IGS™ grooved sprinklers to IGS™ grooved sprinkler outlets.

FM Approval Status: FM Approved.

Hazard Involved: The Style V9 Sprinkler Coupling is secured on one side using a single cap screw and locking nut while the other side is hinged. In couplings with affected cap screws, if the cap screw breaks, the coupling will separate and release the coupling and connected sprinkler from the system piping and result in water discharge from the system outlet. Sprinklers installed using the Style V9 coupling will still perform as intended in response to fire.
