Description

Emerson Process Management has identified a potential safety concern affecting the reliability of Rosemount models; 2051T, 3051C, 3051D, 3051G, 3051T with a display meter option code (M4 – LCD Display with Local Operator Interface or M5 – LCD Display) which were shipped from January 20, 2015 to January 22, 2015.

The potential safety concern was caused by an incorrect equipment setup in the manufacturing process for the meter cover assembly. The cemented joint between the metal and glass on the display meter cover may not comply with explosion proof requirements. Also, the cemented joint has the potential to allow environmental exposure to the transmitter electronics.

Emerson’s quality monitoring processes identified this issue. As a direct result of quality monitoring, production and shipping were immediately stopped as soon as the issue was identified. Formal corrective action has been taken to prevent the issue from re-occurring.
