Pipe and Duct Insulation

Insulation over piping and ductwork could provide a trail for fire to spread throughout a large portion of a facility. Mechanical piping and duct systems, such as those used in heating, ventilating, air conditioning, or refrigeration, sometimes need to be insulated for maximum operational efficiency.

Pipe and duct insulation that has been certified by FM Approvals mitigate the risk that the fire will propagate beyond the area of origin. These FM Approved insulations, installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions, are designed for use without the need for automatic sprinkler protection and can provide the end user a level of assurance that the facility is well protected.
