Perimeter Barriers

The river level is rising. The water is slowly creeping toward the building. Something must be put in place to stop the water from getting to the building.

A temporary perimeter barrier is an emergency structure which, when deployed, is intended to protect an area surrounding an occupancy from rising water. Temporary perimeter barriers that are certified by FM Approvals have been evaluated for their ability to control riverine- or rainfall-related flood conditions in full-scale assembly testing, including leakage at various water levels, resistance to dynamic wave action and resistance to floating debris impact. Since failure of a single component of the temporary perimeter barrier could spell disaster, all FM Approved barriers have undergone robust component testing to verify the barrier functionality throughout its expected life.
