Interior Walls and Ceilings

Wall and ceiling panels used for interior construction may have combustible facers or cores which can promote fire and flame spread. Wall and ceiling panels certified by FM Approvals that are designed to be utilized for interior construction have been evaluated for fire performance only and have characteristics that limit their ignitability and minimize flame propagation should the panel become involved in a fire. While they have been evaluated for fire performance, these panels should not be mistaken as fire rated construction.

Because of their properties, these certified panels do not, in and of themselves, require special fire protection.
