Alert Summary

Advanced Sensors Ltd has identified a potential safety concern involving FM Approved Advanced Sensors EX 1000P Inline Probe when installed with a SA-100P, SA-100P2, SA-1000P or SA-1000P2 Safe Area Analyzer sold between February 2014 and August 2015.

End users who have an Advanced Sensors SA-100P, SA-100P2, SA-1000P or SA-1000P2 Safe Area’s analyzer where any part of the system is in a hazardous area location or a potentially hazardous area location should take immediate steps both to power down the unit and remove it from service.

In circumstances where the probe is installed in a hazardous area location or a potentially hazardous area location, the current gland design could allow the gland connection to permit vapors to be transmitted to the safe area enclosure. There is a possibility that a gas leak from the gland connection of the analyzer could result in catastrophic personal injury, death, and/or property damage. Consequently, Advanced Sensors has initiated an urgent program to promptly address any relevant analyzers currently at risk.

Advanced Sensors has not received any reports to date of any analyzer failures, but Advanced Sensors is taking this action in an abundance of caution in the interest of safety and avoiding potential risks.
